Current Task:
Task 31C: Top Secret Anthem Remix

Presently, I'm exploring different angles to obtain custom and/or community generated music for our game. That includes contacting indie music communities, contacting various musicians on our forums and from other contacts and any other possibilities to see if we can get traction around this.

Currently also polling the dev teams to see which needs music assets so I can better estimate how critical our need is. One team so far as reported to me they require music assets from the community.

So i invite musicians from amongst the community to participate and help me supply our dev teams with custom music that suits the various aspects of our game. With that in mind, I'll be putting together a list of categories we need music for. Any further thoughts of suggestions and assistance would be appreciated in meeting the music requirements we have.

Angelus, It's been a while since I've checked in but have not forgotten about this. Work, family and running a studio has kept me busy this summer. I have tracked several pieces of music that may be suitable, but the catagories you mentioned would be very helpful. We have been tracking some of the tracks long distance, been using some musicians from out of state, but we are all still interested in contributing if we can.

Anjelusx, I just realized I ended up with two accounts. Sirupyrz and gizmo1957. We are pre-mastering some tunes and just wanted to know which format is prefered. I tried to pm you on both accounts but I don't think any of the were sent on either account.
thanks...sirupyrz...

MP3 has quality loss, even at 320kbps, I have expensive heaphones (you don't even want to ask the price Rolling Eyes ) and there is a noticable difference between a lossless format and MP3.

So a format such as ogg or flac should be used and then converted down, or kept as is if your really into music quality.

MP3 also has specific licensing terms if used nativity, so either we would pay or we would convert the mp3 to something else, converting music twice means another quality drop.

Hi, yaddahoo!

I listened to the song. It's nice. Here are my suggestions:

1.) Maybe a change in instruments?
2.) OR adding more instruments (to add more dimension)
3.) Do it a bit uptempo (since we're a racing game after all) maybe make it faster
4.) I don't know but I feel sad in some parts of the song. (starting at 0:40)
(but maybe adjusting the tempo would fix this)

Hear from you soon, yaddahoo!

I'm going to post some music too. (especially now that I don't have any pending art works)
