Plain and simple. if you want to grind in CC, you need herbs. the healer/hybrid healing themselves is a true pain and make grinding very difficult. I am making this guide to help anybody who has trouble getting herbs, or doesn't know where or how to get them.
First of all the herbs spawn around the Cave of the conquerer entrence. They look like this:


all you have to do is run around The CC entrence for a while and you will see them.
NOTE: it takes a long time and patience, because most likely there will be a lot of other people trying to get herbs as well. Also, people pk over herbs; silly, but it happens.
When you break open the chest it will look like this:


Quickly try to pick it up by using spacebar, i tap it repeatedly before so i can almost guarantee to get the herbs.

The chests will always look the same, and there is no way of knowing how many or what kind of herbs will come out.
To my knowledge, the Herb chests spawn randomly, but some people say there is a pattern (maybe somebody can clarify that for me)

EDIT/SIDE NOTE: i made this guide because when i started out i had no idea how to get herbs, but with some luck and questioning of other people i was quickly on my way to CC. Also, i had searched on the forums and had a tough time finding anything along these lines.

yeah i was pretty much going for that, and somebody had told me there was a general pattern and areas in which they spawn. thanks for clarifying

Your pictures look like they're the wrong way around.

As for a pattern, not sure what order (if any) that chests spawn but as soon as they appear they're usually taken and it seemed to me around 10 minutes before they appear again.

The chests re-spawn always in same place, and they have a time to re-spawn.

If you know the order in which they have been opened you will know the order in which they will re-spawn

yeah unfortunately you cant tell if other people have opened chests :/

Nice observation

The chests spawn in the same general area but not always the same place. Also the chests may not spawn if there is a mob occupying the region in which it normally appears.

AND sometimes the chests spawn at different time intervals(ie: 5-8-5-7min); believe me, I've spent many a morning camping all the chests in an empty bp.

I've also experienced this bug with chestes that once you see it spawn and start hitting, it will disappear after few hits. Pretty annoying, but i found out that working solution is to kill mob wandering nearby and chest will re-appear at 40% hp or so. Dunno if anyone else has experienced this though.

You've forgot about asking a friend or hiring someone to do it and trade you the CC herbs. Sometimes, this works.
